We had an excellent turnout at our November General Membership meeting which was held via Zoom. Congratulations to our $100 prize draw winners – Maeve Bermingham (Municipality) and Patricia Lesku (Library). Our next meeting will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021. Information will be sent out nearer the time.

NEW SHOP STEWARD – PUBLIC WORKS (posted September 10, 2020)
The WVMEA is pleased to announce that Nigel Tridico has kindly stepped forward to fill the position of Shop Steward at the Ops Yard for our Public Works members. A Shop Steward Notice has been sent out to all Ops Yard employees.
2020 WVMEA SCHOLARSHIPS (posted September 10, 2020)
The Academic Scholarship Committee met in mid-August and the decision was taken, for this year only, to award 3 scholarships of $2,000 each as there were no applicants for either the Trades or Visual Arts Scholarships. The winners of this year’s Academic Scholarships are Caden Hewlett, Leiana Hoshyari and Irene Kim. An Academic Scholarship Notice has been emailed today to members whose personal email address we have on file. Congratulations to Caden, Leiana and Irene and also many thanks to all the excellent candidates who applied this year.
